Interview sounds like a visit from a loss adjuster. Was your vehicle kept where you stated it was on policy.
i.e. Policy said locked garage/drive but on road. What security precautions were in place compared with what was on policy. Are you claiming for any undeclared or illegal modifications? i.e. standard headlights swopped for LED headlights can have an impact on policy premiums as risk is different. Check what you said on your insurance proposal before the interview. We have only had loss adjuster out once when a certain insurance company who pays out in 97% of cases without fuss were trying to literally con us! Good luck. Brendan |

Vehicle was on the drive, as stated the policy.
It had a tracker fitted but that wasn't declared on the policy. |

I'm going to assume, because I'm cynical, that they're not doing this for your benefit. It's for theirs. Now, they may be gathering info on how the thefts take place, or they may be gathering info on how to reduce the pay out or avoid it all together?
I think I'd be asking where in my contract with them it states I was subject to interview, and if the outcome is going to affect your pay out? |

You can be rest assured that the slimey b4stards are gonna try and wriggle out of paying out for the loss of your beloved vehicle . Make sure you record the interview and make sure you have a silent and if possible independent witness sitting taking notes . Tell the investigator why you are doing it so he's on the back foot straight away .
Tell him you know his game from the word go . 2006 DEFENDER 90 TD5 CSW XS 2018 RANGE ROVER SPORT HSE DYNAMIC |

There’s a reason they are called loss adjusters - to reduce the loss by the Ins Co. I’ve had recent on a house insurance theft claim. Basically they tried everything to not pay, so I got the Ombudsman involved who told me to formally complain, wait 8 wks for a response, and then if unhappy ask them to investigate - which Ins Cos hate because the findings are made public on the Ins Ombudsman website
They found in our favour on 2 out if 3 complaints. You’ve got to be patient but do not accept the first offer, be a polite pain. Money Saving Expert has a brilliant online forum with loads of advice. 2015 90 XS SW Bowler 1998 TD5 CSW |

Thanks for the replies.
I'm a firm believer in treating people how they treat you! That's a good suggestion about having someone else there listening and taking notes. I'll have a look on the Martin Lewis website. |

Do you have to entertain the bod? Why not say it would be inconvenient & ask them to put their questions in writing?

I cannot add anything to what has already being said but I wish you all the best and hope it's a successful outcome for you. I would certainly read your policy schedule very carefully before they arrive. Just make sure you are fully prepared, as some have already said they are not coming to see you for your benefit.
I'm sure we would all like to know how you get on. Defender 90XS SW Mini Countryman Cooper S Morgan Plus 8 |
