nicely done, that's a good start!
Some companies I've used are Paddock Spares, MUD UK and one of my favorites for quick delivery and genuinely low prices is Island 4x4 . I've done quite a bit to mine in the year I've owned it, similar to you really, all the "easy" bolt on bits, wheels, gloss black painting, I fitted the side windows etc. I've also done the Exmoor trim interior upgrades which make it a nice place to be. One thing that really made a difference, the dynamat sound deadening ![]() |

Hello scottchad01
Welcome aboard... ![]() I'm sure you'll find lots here on D2N to help you get the most out of your new purchase, (looks like a very nice 90... well done) Security... make yourself a brew, type Security in the Search Function and sit down for a long read... ![]() In short, the 'layered approach' is recommend here (we are not alone on this one) various individual precautionary steps (some simple to implement) taken to at least slow down a would be thief or at best defeat them (very difficult when you really think about it). For most 'opportunist' or even someone who has planned 'a move' against your vehicle, there are quite a few measures that can be taken to make life significantly more difficult from a standard Defender, hopefully causing them to ideally walk away and not even attempt a break in, or steal parts, or at least cause them to rethink the effort (and risk involved) if they have a go.... If they are trying to cash in on the Defenders popularity or to trade in 'second hand' parts... then to be frank, you are trying to get them to chose an easier target. The historical problem with Defenders (inherited largely from the Series Land Rovers) is that Security was never properly addressed (in a world that changed around the Defender) and many 'could do better' areas remained unchanged right up until production ended. It is therefore easy to look at all Defenders as an easy target, and the crime figures support this, even though the Defender appears to have now slipped down the rankings (No 9 in 2017 according to one source) it would be worth while taking some measures to try and secure it. https://inews.co.uk/essentials/lifestyle/c...olen-cars/ Have a read here on D2N, make a list, implement as you go. My top Seven... (in no particular order apart from No.1) 1. Removable Steering Wheel (for me outright 1st place). 2. Security Marking of Vehicle Parts (low cost highly visible). 3. Mechanical Locking Devices, Wheel Clamp and Pedals (and Steering wheel if still fixed). 4. Internal and External Sirens (with fully independent Power Supply). 5. 'Group Correction' of all easily removed, high cost parts, Bonnet and Doors (could write off the vehicle if taken). 6. Tracker, (if you rely on this IMO you have already lost the 1st objective, trying to stop it going in the first place). 7. Re-route the Power Supply to the Alarm / Immobiliser (work out why, how, then fix...). All that said...enjoy ![]() Good Luck. SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

The Exmoor kit is good, I've done the seats and all the carpeting. I highly recommend their stuff. Its fairly easy to fit, spray glue etc, had no problems with it at all.
