I think the realistic price for any product is what someone will pay for it!......this is an interisting thread and if the op is willing tto let us know it would be eyeopening to see what he actually sells his truck for.... or does he end up part exing it

Thanks for the advice, although I would have preferred some of it as a PM Luckily I am happy to wait a while as I’m in no rush to sell it, the price I’m asking is what it’s worth to me, (and hopefully its new owner) if it doesn’t sell then I’ll be happy to keep it. I have someone coming to view it on Thursday so if I do have any luck I’ll let you know |

Sorry fella ! but this is a Defender forum and most on here have a good gemeral idea what a defender is worth..I know that has somewhat been skewed by the end of the line bubble in prices but if i was in the market for your truck ,which is a fine example of a defender i would want to pay x pounds for it and if you were not willing to drop i would look elswhere in the marketplace ...
...In the end it would depend on how urgemt my need was and the market ,which is awash with obervalued trucks not selling because folk are unsure of the market and dont want to sell and see it on a forecourt for 5 grand more than they sold it . I hope you get what you want for it and its an advantage to you if your in no rush as you might get a whim buyer who looks on e bay ect and will see trucks being offered at inflated prices and think thats the going rate snap yours up. I dont know what will happen in the future regarding prices but the rush to electric and the downer on diesel fuel nmay have an negative effect and the quality of the new defender might effect demand! |

Totally agree with the above. I really struggled to sell my Defender and it was realistically priced and mint. The market is on the slide.

I don't think it's about the price, but to do with people having the cash to buy.
Most buy cars with finance solutions so a private sale for 20-30k is difficult unless bought back into trade. I sold my last two back to the trade and was very pleased with the prices. Also asking a specialist to sell it for you on commission is a good idea as they can offer warranty and finance at top book prices I wish you good luck with the sale |

Okay, I didn't create this post to start a debate on the vehicles value but thanks for all the genuine advice. I may look into selling it to trade as I am looking at replacing it with another defender eventually anyway.
