It is possible, if the switches are not wired up and only there to fill a hole.

The skill will be to roll into McDonalds, operate the switch whilst winding the window down - obviously impressing the McD's staff in the process.

To be possible, there would have to be a way of disengaging the electric drive. If the winder spins round, if it is electric, that would be asking to hit your knee.

Purely for information -

When the range topper Peugeot 505 first came out in the late 70's it was fitted with electric windows, this was the first time I'd seen such a thing in the flesh; what was slightly different compared with today's cars was that there was a plastic grommet where the winders would be and in with the tool kit was a window winder!

I thought this was a great idea, if the electrics packed up you had a manual override! Useful in a day when car 'electronics' were something from the space age and reliability couldn't be relied on, just look at the various Lotus models back then!

Peugeot still used the plastic blanking gromets into the 90s on the door cards for electric windows! Thumbs Up

There was no manual overide behind though, it was just so door cards could be common.

Full puma bulkhead conversion. It'll kick out some heat with a V8 - they get hot with a diesel!

It's quite a mix of parts really. Td5 rear tub and fuel tank too.... 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

The dash I think you can get as a kit, cost about £900 quid I think. But that looks like it could have been panelled using puma/ TD5 stuff. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
