) but on the serious side it eneded up being a faulty ignition barrel (loose internals) and had to be replaced. I wouldn't suspect the alarm but maybe some kinda of loose connections.

I'm starting to get worried ...
Left my 110 at the dealer last thursday for the 1year/20k service, and to solve this problem I posted ... Tomorrow is tuesday and they haven't call me yet ....  if these were simple things they would 've allready been solved ... three days and nothing!  Regards

The earth cable conecting the battery to the chassis was replaced in order to fix this!
Aparently when the winch was fitted a nut was slightly cut off in order to tighten the winch cable on to the battery terminal ... this caused a poor conection between the cable and the battery since it did not tighten correctly to the battery ... if the dealer is correct and this problem was solved with this I'll have a bill to pay  (maybe not if the dealer in nice to me!) ... if this goes on, they're not right ... 4 days and the Defender has been turning on OK!
