Quick update
She has brakes... Small amount of welding to offside bulkhead pillar. Not sure how to finish this paintwise as rest of vehicle original.... She has rebuilt swivels and now steers Got engine running for 25 mins and even the rad holds water Freed off clutch and for the first time since 1981 is moved around under its own power! That was on Christmas Eve Ordered a new wiring loom as some/most/all of wires have rodent damage. Autosparks may be the biggest delay we have encountered so far sadly..... 1951 80" S1 2.0 1995 110 300TDI 1995 90 300TDI |

Sounds good
Look forward to seeing some pics, you did the right thing with the Auto Sparks loom, Most brake downs are due to faulty wiring at that age! Expensive, but worth it 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

Hi,
Not going to paint the whole thing, it's just what to do with the little areas of welding. More obvious on the bulkhead as you can see. Update : Welding done. Swivels and brakes rebuilt. Fuel tank refurbished and new SU pump fitted. Autosparks loom ordered but still 4 weeks left to wait until it arrives. Brake master cylinder away getting re sleeved. Tyres ordered, not going down the Avon route (sorry to the rivet counters but £200 a corner??!) popped the hood on to see how she looked Question, wiper motor looks period correct to me as a Lucas one? Going to remove and refurbish but some are saying looks nothing like an original? 1951 80" S1 2.0 1995 110 300TDI 1995 90 300TDI |

Great progress
Painfully dear the Avon’s.... The wiper is nearly correct! They use the Lucas CWX usually, which yours is but has a different shaped body where the switch is. It’s probably from an MG or similar period classic. Perfectly acceptable though, although some will say not! Wipers were an option at that time, so people put anything on them. You will find every old Lucas part will have a date stamp, eg 4.54 being April 1954, This will be on fuse box, regulator, Dynamo, starter, wiper, etc Keep up the good work 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

Yes would agree with Ian on the wiper motor, I have seen quite a few on classic MG's. and as Ian says perfectly acceptable unless you are an ultra rivet counter
