Just covering a few bases whilst my Puma engine knock (it's not injectors, cam carrier etc. but probably big end/piston related) is being evaluated.
Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, of the above, based in Wolverhampton. They talk a good game and welcome my visit before placing an order to recondition my engine. BUT I found them on E-Bay never my first choice! Thanks. |

I too was involved with a couple of businesses who supplied Ivor Searle with OE quality engine components.
This is going back 15 years or so, so I guess things may have changed, but at the time they were a top quality operation. They would insist on only the best quality components and put the engines through a proper remanufacturing program with serious quality control along the way. Due to the volume handled they were also doing engines in batches with a production line approach using state of the art machining centres which I am sure results in tighter tolerances and QC. I visited many so called "reconditioners" at the time and standards varied massively. From those who did a quick steam clean and replaced the bare minimum, to impressive remanufacturing operations like Ivor Searle. No idea how their prices compare to others, but I would certainly make a call and investigate. Looking at their website their warranty looks pretty robust as well. I was sad to read on the website that Mike Searle had passed away. A true gent and decent bloke. |
