A question for those of you who have added a raised air intake:
On the assumption that those of you that have fitted a RAI have used it to go wading, have any of you gone to the trouble of extending the various breathers? I spoke to Mantec the other day (who supply a "wading kit" of extensions for the Td5) and they said that they're waiting to hear from LR as to whether extended breathers are necessary for the TDCi. This strikes me as odd. Firstly, they're fairly simple things, both in concept and execution, and so their need seems relatively binary. Secondly, I would have thought this was something that was tested so I can't understand why there is any ambiguity. Thirdly, I'm not aware of what changes LR might have made to the set-up of the breathers between the Td5 and the Puma that would mean they wouldn't need extending. Anyway - I thought I'd ask those of you 'out in the field'. |

Ive extended the fuel and am soon to extend the rear breather to the front with the others...my view is that if at the top of the engine bay im happy, becuase:
A) i dont want to be in higher B) I will have other concerns C) there are other damage issues to add to the list so this wont hurt. Mike |

Thanks guys.
Reading the threads (I don't know how I missed that last one) it seems that the breather config is the same in the Puma as the Td5. That means that I probably should fit extended breathers at some stage. |

Hi all
I fitted a Mantec RAI last weekend and am not sure which is the best place to run the breathers to. I was thinking of one of the seat boxes or in the back of the pickup. Which is best? 130 crew cab 98 V8 Disco |
