I have fitted a new pioneer head unit to our 2012 110 and the special connector cable to allow the unit to work with the OEM cables speakers and OEM sub woofer (? alpine) - all was great and worked well.
Since then I have added an under cubby box with heater etc and extended the cable to the sub. The sub no longer works ... Ive double checked the cables and connection and all seems to be right (ie the plugs are all in and the cables are all connected to the right ones etc...) the normal speakers all work fine. Does the Sub have an independent fuse? any other suggestions ? many thanks Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html Elgar -TDCI(Puma) 110XS Dormobile - now sold Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - DC126 |

Have you disconnected the battery at any point? Is the head unit sub output turned on (probably a more technical name but an option under audio settings on Alpines from memory?)

Subs like a very big earth (well, amps do).... Preferably a large cable direct to the battery.

earth is the same as when standard fitted by factory,
head unit is tired on and was working before i extended the wiring - hence the question about an internal fuse ... battery has been disconnected in the past, and now reconnected but everything else is working ... Im baffled !!
