Please will someone post the diagram for a 2008 Puma wiring. My RH window has stopped working. I have checked the wiring in the door for failure and it's not that. I get battery on both wires, red and blue, which goes out when the switch is pressed.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the diagram of the window switch isn't entirely accurate. I think both sides of the motor are held at battery voltage with ignition and then the appropriate wire is grounded to make the motor work.

window switch swap (+ - ) over witch driver window motor CW or CCW and window mec up or down

Standard defender switch gives +ve on both wires in the neutral position. The switch just pulls either wire to ground depending if you press up or down.

Thanks for the explanation, the switch diagram doesn't show that piece of important detail. Hence I must have a mechanical problem.

What cuts out the motor when it gets to the full up/down position?

sound like motor , But
1. Id check all wire back to the fuse make shore all connector good ( as the voltage may be induct and when a load is applied going) 2.Can you test the motor with test leads from battery with 20 amp fuse in line  Last edited by dorsetsmith on 24th Dec 2017 1:23pm. Edited 1 time in total |

As the connector is so difficult to get to, does that mean I have to take out the motor and mechanism?

You do when you take your finger off the button on a Defender, otherwise nothing, the motor just stalls at either limit. Most vehicles sense either current draw or back-emf when the motor stalls and cut the power, but not the Defender. Don't shut the window with a body part hanging out - it hurts! |

I was hoping it was a simple fault. I have checked the electrical connections and the power is present where it should be when no in use and when the buttons are pressed. I can't hear the motor trying to work when I press the button. Any thoughts?
