Cheers Mash, I'm in North Devon, just on the edge of Exmoor.
I've lurked on the forum for a while and have learnt loads already. Reading others posts has what's inspired me to just do it! |

I'm about 10 miles from Barnstaple!
Busy old day today... Windscreen and bonnet off. The vent flaps were a pain in the booty! ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Got rust of course but not as bad as I was expecting. Reckon I'll be able to get the repair done myself. ![]() Click image to enlarge Got the rest of the doors off. Dash etc. out and started taking the floor panels up. Part of the MOT failure was the state of the foot wells. I'll be dropping in some replacements in the New Year. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Rotten C-Pillars on both sides. ![]() Click image to enlarge I managed to destroy my trusty old ratchet and ran out of "Shock n unlock" so will have to wait a few days to get to a supplier. I'll keep myself busy with the angle grinder! Merry Christmas folks! |

The Misses decided to fall down the stairs at Christmas.
![]() So frustrating having the Landy sat out there with time off work and all the jobs I'd planned to do. Never mind, saved me some pennies that I can throw at her next weekend! I'd started on the front wings which were being difficult to say the least! |

Great stuff getting stuck in
![]() Also if things are starting to go tits up, back right off and come back at it tomorrow. The pain in the arse jobs sharp go over very smooth. Once she fires up after your over haul, you will be buzzing like hell! Doing my metro rebuilds gave me the push to tackle anything. My pal also got his experience up on welding, just by having a whack at the defenders door, Going from what he learned. He did a cracking repair job on my dads chassis out rigger ![]() Also me and my dad have started to buy proper tools for the jobs in hand, just to make life a lot easier now. He bought him self a electric buzz gun ( as i call it) and i bought a heavy duty jack, that lifts the landy up with in a crack! I am toying with the idea on making a jig for the bearings using the old spare wheel. ![]() Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

Cheers Procta.
![]() I've started getting some stuff in myself. Bought 4 axle stands rated at 6 tonne each and a high lift trolley jack for starters. Picking up a few modular trays from a certain companys "Advanced" range today after killing my 2 ratchets on rusted bolts! Checking your thread out has given me some ideas. ![]() |

id buy a proper 3 ton jack not a high lift, high lifts can slip sadly, My dad used his on mine, and it was going to slip sideways.
so we ended up using a proper jack, with the clutch going on my dads we bought a transmission jack, Also with me buying the big heavy duty jack, Life was a lot easier, We have those times of stands too, looking at buying another pair I think. It's a trolley jack I'm using mate but it's got an adapter on it to lift higher. I've got a "High Lift" too but not used it yet. The work space I'm in has a cobbled floor that's a few hundred years old so not exactly level!
