By eck that is a tight fit under the wing JST... Love it, using every available space. The heat exchanger idea is top notch What a great idea and one that met with an approving nod from the wife. I do not know if that is a good thing or not Fo completeness could we have a photo of the controller set ups as well please?
After spending the better part of the last few days travelling the length of the UK in the 110 (dog training) I can safely say that there is a very good reason why LR offered winterising as an option. It is not that the standard heater is crap, it isn't, when up to temp it kicks out some great heat. The problem occurs when you are not moving fast enough in sub-zero temps or stationary in traffic the coolant cools down very quickly. Yes I needed a rad muff this weekend as a minimum. It was quite the effort to continually toggle between clearing the screen and defrosting the foot wells. I can honestly see the point of having both coolant and cab air heaters installed. Other things to note were; The heated wing mirrors ceased to work early on. The tyres are throwing so much road dirt up on the sides i am losing the use of the wing mirrors entirely. The screen wash did not freeze this time and I went through 8 litres of it. Heated seats are worth their weight...! The ice build up on the periphery of the wiper arc was astonishing. Would a heated screen have helped here? Great driving though |

The heated screen works a treat for keeping the screen snow free

Ah thanks Grafty, so you can flick it on and off as is required...
Just found this thread of someone fitting an eberspacher cab heater in to their MSS cubby box. Great solution. |

I have had Webasto night heaters fitted in 2 of my landys. I installed them under the passenger cubby box, plumbed into the fuel tank and have to say they were brilliant. Hot air from start with about the same heat/force as a domestic fan heater so ample for a land rover. Even over a short journey they warmed the car quickly and dried out any water from leaks so kept any steaming up to a minimum. They also of course were not reliant on the poor land rover fan to distribute the heat.
