Heater fan switch playing up?
just had this one in this morning.
2010 90.
Symptoms, heater switch intermittent, only working on speed 2 occasionally.
Rather than the resistor, which can be another anoying Puma problem, I put my money on the switch itself?
So first remove radio,

Then T30 Torx, undo the two screws on the fascia.

Pulling sharply on the fascia above the clock, this will un clip the top,
And pulling from the bottom (use a hook tool) to get underneath, this will then allow the fascia to be pulled forwards.

Unplug all the switches/clock/hazard switch,
Don't worry about having to label plugs and locations, they will only fit the specific switch,
So you can not get them crossed over or miss matched at any point.
With the panel removed you can now see the heater control unit,
This is only avalible as a complete unit,
You can not get the switch alone.
Cost from an Indy is £121.00 + VAT.

Before I took the control unit out, I took the switch out which is held in by 3 small screws.
You can now open up the switch body, which will reveal the small sprung loaded contacts that slide along the track.
The problem here is the switch has got too hot, and started to melt the plastic housing,
This in turn has deformed where the sprung contacts sit, and stopped them from making contact.

I did try to see if I could do anything with the switch, there isn't any real fix for it, once it's melted that's the end!
As this is a work vehicle and not a customers, I decided to change just the switch, and not the whole unit,
The unit itself is easy to remove and replace being only held in with 4 screws at each corner.
So, new switch fitted, make sure it works,
And refit the dash in reverse order.
Check everything works,
It's a simple fix for a common problem.
Hope this helps someone in the future? 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

A common fault, usually caused by one of the bulbs starting to fail and overheating.

The issues are usually always either the resistor or switch, all the bulbs original and working on this one,
Just overheated contacts at the switch.80" 80" 86" 88" 90"
