 I can't remember what the issue was but I think they caused smearing I believe or something like that. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

I use these and change them at least every year as the move more mud then water.

My point is Halfords are REALLY expensive for wiper blades (and bulbs), dealers are cheaper, motor factors are cheaper still, you're bound to have a motor factor near you. Or Euro car parts do free delivery.

+1 for Bosch Aero.
Tried silicone ones, replacement standard ones and Aero. Hands down the best 'wipe' and last longer than standard ones, but maybe not as long as silicone. |

From what i gather it takes a fair bit of effort to get one, you need trade references etc.
When the Fan belt failed on the way home from first collecting my Defender, the recovery guy was saying he went into get a trade card and they said they needed proof of him being in the trade. He pointed out he was wearing the uniform of a recovery firm and had a recovery truck parked outside, that wasn't enough. |

Not liking the look of the Aeros I've always used Bosch SuperPlus but the last pair on the Defender lasted only 12 months before becoming streaky. As I was in the local indy this morning I picked up a Britpart set. Normally I wouldn't touch the blue boxes but for only �8 a pair I thought they were worth a try. The blades are ~half an inch shorter but they're working better than the old Bosch parts so far...
UPDATE: Still OK after a few weeks but they don't much like the colder weather. The flip-over at the end of each stroke is noisy, probably due to the rubber hardening as the temperature falls. The ones I usually buy from my local factors are Valeo V35. 350mm (or 14") for Ford focus 1998-2004 rear.... fits front of a defender perfectly (they're about 1/2" longer than standard to get right to the top of the screen without rubbing the frame.)

only thing you have to careful of is the extra drag might wear the wheel boxes.

I've got the Silblades from MUD fitted and have no issues with them, you can clearly see that they leave a coating on the screen which repels water when driving

I used a set of Sillblades from MUD for over 2 years, great wipers and yes did leave a coating on the screen.
The more you used them the better they got. When you first use them after a while of dry weather they appear to be useless, but after they clear the screen a few times they work a treat. 110XS CSW TD5. |
