Checking coolant again today and the level seems to have settled and not got any lower from when I last checked a few weeks back.
As for the fans in the car I've checked behind the dash and the tube things are connected, the flaps operate correctly in the footwell also. I can hear the fan going in engine bay too. Is it likely the heater box is broken? |

If the blower fan is working then it's just a matter of the flaps working to direct that air into the cab.
Maybe an odd question.. but do you have a grill (With holes in it) on top of the nearside wing? |

Yup i have grill on wing, is there a way to check if air is leaving the heater box thing below the windscreen in the engine bay?

Just making sure a blanking plate hasn't been put on it.
The fan and heater matrix are sealed so the first place you could check is the other side of the bulkhead, in the cab. But I think as people have said you need to make sure the flaps are working. |

The flaps are working as expected so far as I can tell . Would I need to take dash out then to check where air comes in?

or removed the heater box and fan and check it off the your land rover allot lest to remove box and fan than removing your dash
in doing so you can check heater matrix and flaps you may find al sorts in air inlet from your wing top had one with motor run but fan blade shred off motor drive shaft lower part of your dash where heating air move thought is one pace, (item 2) havering removed dash to make repair to foot well and removed heater box replace matrix, take dash out a lot more work Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge two coolant pipe can be clamped no need drain the system |

Click image to enlarge Ok after investigation behind the instrument cluster, the leaver doesn't do a lot the cable just folds in half, way to much slack on it. Not too sure how to go about adjusting it. Click image to enlarge |

Not exactly sure how to disconnect cable from leaver it's a strange plastic thing rather than a nut etc. I'll take a photo of heater box end as well as that doesn't look right either

Is that right because there is nothing on it you can adjust yes, my mistake you can adjust top flap cable, but you will need to make shore that this cable and flap works, if the flap is closed no air from the fan can move into heater box and cross heater matrix for hot air or around heater matrix cold air
1. remove control cable outer clip (orange arrow) from heater box for this cable and slacken trunnions ( red arrow) and remove control cable from heater vent flap lever 2. make shore heater vent flap lever mover up and down and is not stuck, if it stuck you will need to remove heater box and investigate 3. if all is ok with the heater vent flap lever 4. next check that heater control cable inner will mover in and out when lever is moved if not replacement will needed LR part number JFF000070 or RHD Heater Fan Speed Control Lever Switch & Cable - STC4848 check these part numbers as only show one ring on inner cable but you may have form eye in the inner cable for heater vent flap lever end Heater Fan Speed Control Lever Switch end Click image to enlarge heater vent flap lever end Click image to enlarge Last edited by dorsetsmith on 28th Dec 2017 6:05pm.
