Does anyone own an Apple 3 watch? GPS / Data
Hello

Not for me may I add, I got out of the Apple game years ago... Android for me Thumbs Up

However the Boss would like one...

So has anyone got the Watch 3 ideally with the Sim version?

Currently its only available on EE and I don't want to switch phone providers so my question would be is it worth going for the sim version in the hope other providers will be able to use it soon?

If I stick to the non sim version do you still get an update on the phone if you have a call?

Thanks & Please no flames on how bad apple are etc etc... I know Very Happy

Sorry, I love my Pebble (and gutted they are no more Big Cry ) No sim but shows calls, texts and messages etc. I would think the Apple is similar so wouldn’t bother with the sim version unless it’s being used away from the phone

The current Mrs Rashers has a non-sim Series 3.
If you mean do you get a notification on the watch if the phone rings - yes you do. It blue tooths to the phone. And text messages and email notifications. The emails when read on the phone are a cut down version - to help the small screen.
We were chatting to a Guy in the Apple shop the other day and he didn't imply any of the others were going join EE with Sims for the watches.
I couldn't imagine Apple would do a deal with EE for exclusivity, but it's possible I suppose?
She also got the bigger 42mm screen. Looking at it and having a go, I'm not sure 38mm screen would be overly very easy for my fingers. The larger screen is do-able if a tad small!
Hope that helps

Thanks

Sounds like the the non sim will do what we need really...

However the SIm version also comes with 16GB and a better scratch resistant screen. My wifes= is very small and tiny wrists so the 38mm would be ok, its all relative as unlike my clunky huge hands she has small ones Very Happy Very Happy

Trouble is now I find out you need a Apple phone 6 or higher, typical apple stuff,,, Smile

Oh those clever Apple boffins. Trained by Steve Jobs to extract the maximum amount of Wonga from the unsuspecting public...... they don't realise they want it till they build it.

Saying that, I don't know that many people who have Apple Watches. My Sister-in-law got one of the first ones as a present. The wife has just got one and I know one other person at work who has one, but they have definitely not had the draw that the iPhone did. As JeremyJ says, there are a lot of different devices out there which, depending on what you want, do a very similar thing - and mostly a lot cheaper than the Apple Watch.

But then Apple have never produced anything that is cheap.

^ I'm with you I swapped my Apple phone for an Android one Plus and never looked back Smile

I also have been looking at smart watches, and Samsung do a great one for £250 (or less)

However the Mrs likes the Apple one, too be fair it looks nice, you can choose straps so she can have the smart look for work and the sports look etc.

One of the reasons I got away from them was the constant updates and new models.

I currently use a Microsoft band one and it was £50, tracks all my sport stuff, show's I'm getting a call, you ca read e-mail and text etc... However if we were all sensible I guess there would be a lot more Skodas than there is currently Smile

Jealous that you still have your Microsoft Band. I went through 5 in 4 years (all returned under warranty). Great device, just unreliable. I wish MS would sort themselve out.

I've since tried a Vivofit but had problems with the bluetooth. Returned.
Then tried a FitBit with heart rate. No email notications and the calorie/step count was just crazy high (6000 calories while sitting at my desk). Returned.
Just tried a Wauwei Watch 2. Big chunky thing, like being on day release from prison. Didn't like Android wear at all. Returned.

Looks like I'm going for a Samsung Gear 2 - does most of what I need without too much spying. Hopefully, I'll like this as I think I've run out of options!
