Hi I took my 1986 2.5 na 90 for its mot today and it passed with no advisories ,it’s done more miles this year than it’s done since it’s release from the army in 2012,I’ve used it almost every day to get to work and Tash uses it occasionally to go shopping in as well, really pleased with it cheers Paul

Today I got round to quietening the grumbling from under the bonnet on my Td5. Mine's a non air-con and one if not both idler pulleys above the power steering/water pumps was the suspect. I've been meaning to fit an air-con compressor pump to provide an on board air supply so I had got some bits together over the past few months and with a new idler pulley dropping on the doormat yesterday it spurred me on.
It turned out that the idler that stays located along with the pump was the one that was running extremely rough and the other that is replaced by the pump isn't far behind, it was a good job that I had bought another one. Incidently they are both the same, the only difference being is that the one that takes the place of the pump has a spacer on the bolt to space it out from the frame. Now all that I've got to do is find some air-con pipes with the fittings to the pump and fit the regulator, then wire up the electrics side. It can stay as it is for now as it's freewheeling on the pump and it's a damned site quieter than it was |

You just can't beat a TDi and yours looks just right sitting there.Just got back from Yorkshire took the J but the 90 is up and running Chris did fix it in time but only by a day and I didn't want to chance driving all that way without a few miles testing ,I did do a couple of lanes one called six dales right across the moor lovely views ,but not the same in the Jeep just feels all wrong, there are places only a Land Rover should be.
