The light on the left if it stays on, should mean your battery in the fob needs replacing

From LUCAS 10AS ALARM- System Overview:
Low battery error: This configures the alarm to notify the user via the Security LED either on the first receipt of a key code in which the low battery flag is set or to wait until it has received a number of them in succession. The exact number is determined by the value stored in the LOW BAT COUNT box. Battery Error: When set to ENABLED this configures the alarm to notify the user via the security LED that the plip has a low battery in accordance with the other settings which affect this function's operation. When set to NO the function is totally disabled |

Hmm, bit strange because it only happens after I’ve stopped, not locked it and started it up again. I would’ve thought a low battery alarm would be on all the time?

10AS function means it'll allow the vehicle to crank while doing security check with PCM through IPK. If the security check isn't successful (no fob detected) the vehicle will stop cranking. Usually get crank and fire but then cuts out immediately. This is done to avoid a delay in cranking while fob immobiliser code is checked.

The other night i returned to my 2.2tdi to find neither of my fobs working, on opening the car with my key no central locking. when i put the key in the ignition no turn over but triggered the alarm..
AA came no joy tried several things ECU read; fault code/s:System : Engine control - 7MF / Diesel CR/EDC ZSD 422 Status :B1206 - Crash data stored. Error Message : Malfunction Flat beded it to my local LR garge they have told me £2k to replace the alarm module(fried was the terminology) and some wiring. Any ideas in the Bromley, Kent area? |
