That's their other product which only fits 07 onwards defenders I believe, same as the Zunsport grill

I think the difference for their new style mesh is it has to fit with an air con panel. That mesh in your photo was just some wire mesh painted and drilled through the panel - I am sure DIY? I asked them about it before on my non air con td5. Problem is I didn't want any of the fixings showing on the front which is why their newer grille is better as no fixings are shown.
That is the Naka grille you can get from 4x4 Overlander in the other photo. I suppose you could put two holes in the heritage badge and just attach with bolts throught the grille? |

My Nakatanenga Heritage grill with Artmin alloy badge.
Fitted the grill in late 2010 but after just a couple of years there were already some spots of corrosion which had to be treated. Bought the badge from Gavin in 2013, as many on here will testify his work is excellent. Click image to enlarge ONE LIFE, GET IT! |

I think i've worked out a way of doing it myself to achieve the same finish as the retro grill in my original post, i'm going to see if I can buy a spare front panel off ebay to experiment.
Twisted came back to me today (good customer service!) to tell me it was a custom job they did which lead to their stage one grille package.

Some 1" square stainless steel welded mesh gives the same effect as the twisted grill. The stuff I used is 3mm diameter mesh with a strip of white plastic edging around it. Would be just as easy to put the mesh behind the panel and bolt through the original grill holes. 1990 Defender 110 200TDI Camper - now converted to Td5 power

Corrosion on the Nakatanenga grill after a couple of years? I thought their stuff was supposed to be excellent quality. Litch, can I ask how you afixed Gavin’s badge to the grill? It looks like you used rivets but I would have thought the grill mesh was too thin to rivet through? |
