United Kingdom 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Tonga Green
Morgan
A mate came round this weekend - he's hired an 11 reg Morgan with a 4 pot 1.6 unit.

Looks great, goes well, fun to drive BUT some of the finishes and fittings make our Defenders look positively sophisticated!

1) Leather on the doors is studded on pretty poorly.
2) Rust around the windscreen wipers (this is pretty much brand new!)
3) Comical bit of rubber/neoprene around the doors.
4) Comical cut out bit of plastic around the doors surrounds.
5) A steering wheel possibly nicked from a chav's Nova.

And various other bits - this car lists at well over £30k!

Every time I see a "handbuilt" car, I do question why people bother - Astons, Morgans and to a large extend Lotus - all wobbly, flexy with the finishing kit of a two bob hatchback.

Reminds me of the Landy...! Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

Pre children, I had a Morgan replica - pretty good version too - 2 l engine, and as it weighed next to nothing, went like a rocket. Squeezing 15 stone & 6'2" into it was a clever trick, but once you were in....

But, just as with Landys, you learn to live with the "issues"...

And many will have spent similar amount on brand new Landy to have similar issues....

It is what makes us all both love our Landys & Banging Head 2001 TD5 110 DCPU in Bonatti Grey

Will agree with the Aston bit,, I likened the DB9 i had, as a cross between a TVR and a Defender !!! Shocked California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Really? I always thought an Aston would be fantastically luxurious. I'd still have to buy one if I could afford one. Peter

You'd be surprised and shocked. The worst in the DB7 - absolutely APPALLING interior full of old Ford bits.

When the inlaws had an F355 I was shocked at the dismal interior and overall build quality too.

Expensive does not always mean well made. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

Thats what Ford did to Jag, LR and Aston...trend is being reversed - but it takes years.

Anyone else noticed the Ford CMax and other cr*py ford references in the Evoke interior!! Mike
