I'm looking to mount my fridge in the rear of the 110 on a slide out deck.
I'd really appreciate to see examples of what others have done. Last year when I used the fridge I simply secured it in the back which was ok but as you'll appreciate there's a lot of wasted space my not being able to put stuff on top of it. this year I want to build a cabinet around it and have it on sliders - slide it out of cabinet so I can open lid. I'm sure you all know where I'm coming from. plan to build it out of mdf - was thinking 18mm but perhaps 12mm would be sufficient. all suggestions / pictures gratefully received. |

Thanks Jimb. I had wondered if 18mm might be over kill - thanks for confirming.
Something to get started on this weekend. |

Click image to enlarge Bit out of the square but i found removing the rear seats and placing the fridge there saved heaps of room at the back. Used a longer door stop (to get 90 deg opening) and a false plywood floor. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Whilst it is nice to have the fridge on a slide if you have any plans to do any serious travelling the positioning to allow this cuts down on the flexibility you have to get easy access to other storage.

Mine sits up on the offside wheel arch at the back out of the way when it's in the 90. It's a minor inconvenience to get stuff out but it leaves the whole center floor clear for boxes and kit.

Mine sits on the wheel arch too. The "dead" space behind it is where I store my milk and orange juice.

the nice thing about the slide of course is you can put a shelf above the fridge and still get to the contents without removing the shelf.
I'm back to the drawing board and working on the best solution before our next adventure |
