Fitting AC on TD5
Hi

I did a search, but could not find ... If this has been discussed here plz point me to it ... Very Happy

My uncle has a 90 Td5 from 2003, very tidy!, all standard. In very good conditon, never did offroad, with 90000 km. He wants to keep it, can't afford a new one.
He recently moved to an area 150 km south of Lisbon, that is usually very hot in the summer ... temperatures reach 45º centigrades .... Mr. Green

He is thinking of fitting AC on his Defender .... and asked me for help, so I'm asking you guys... My question is:

Where can I buy a kit (new) ? Stores online ? How much can it cost ?

Besides the kit, what else do I need to change in the car ? Front grille, etc ?

Has anyone did that ? fotos anywhere ?

Any help is very much apreciated! Thumbs Up Regards
Joao

Just went to check ... got the part nº for the kit and serched online ...

The price is obscene! Mr. Green almost 2000€ !! Whistle

Does anybody know another aftermarket kit ?

And fitting ? Is it too hard ? Does the AC needs to be conected to the ECU ?

Is it true that the TD5 AC it only produces cold Question Regards

Wow who would have thought that would be in the same sentence!

When you think what you need its not hard to see the cost:
Compressor
Pipework
Cooling Box
Cables
All other fiddly bits Mike
