We have a steel erection company. All our men have Milwaukee Fuels 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch drive. These are easily the best on the market. 3 years warranty and ours get used all day every day and very little break downs on them.
I have a snap on one myself at home. But that's because I want it to match the tool box etc But definitely buy Milwaukee |

Thanks for the info peoples.
I am surprised Makita hasn't been mentioned yet ? I was leaning towards a Makita, partly because I like my Makita cordless drill and partly because I can use the same batteries. I will take a look at M18 fuel ones as well. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Dont know about the Milwaukee although I do know they are regarded as the Rolls Royce of Power Tools, but having gone through an expensive exercise with lower end tools I now have the Dewalt 899 and can't fault it. Its just a shame really that Dewalt has succumbed to the value engineering principle as they are not made like they used to be(Had a Hammer drill that lasted nearly 20years and only upgraded due to the style of batteries changing. Replaced it with a 996 that lasted 1½ hours!!).
Just remember not to use an Impact Wrench on Security Nuts ![]() |

If you’ve got Makita kit already it makes sense to stick with Makita. They’re a good brand and a lot of the locksmiths I used to work with swore by them. |

I use a Clarke CIR220 24V Cordless Impact Wrench after finding that I hadn't got the strength to get the wheel nut off.
It works okay for me even though some turn their noses up at anything Clarke. A word of caution, don't use them on locking wheel nuts that rely on pins as a means of security. ![]() We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to ![]() Richard |

I use a Ryobi one+ impact gun. I mainly got that one because I have a load of their other tools so already had 3 batteries.
I find it priceless when away with my racing car, but obviously can be used on the Landy too ![]() |

I have had makita, DTW450 is the model from memory. I kept snapping the 1/2 drive on it. Warranty is now out so next time they snap its power tool heaven for them

Impact drivers do require a different type of socket than the one in your tool box just saying
