Been thinking about one of these next ,when I get around to fitting the slickshift which I purchase over a month ago ,should make a very nice drivable defender.

Not fitted yet but they give a nicer movement take up some of the play and 20mm higher so work better with my centre console.

I too have been mulling over getting one of these for my '84 200Tdi 90, handy having the UK importer just over the river! I get that the motor is much more driveable now in normal driving but how is it if you're having to slip the clutch, eg in queued traffic, is it just as precise to drive? |

Been thinking about a redbooster for a few years now, wonder if you could make one,few mechanically minded people i know say it wouldnt be to tricky.
Neverin did you fit it yourself,if so did it need much adjustment |

I have one on my td5
Fitted myself, it's very good, my clutch is mega hard and you can push it down with your little finger now No slipping clutch just drives like normal I'm near notts if anybody wants to pop in and try it |

There's a very long thread on one of the other landy forums, LZ I think, goes into a lot of detail about the servos that fit in the style of a red booster. IIRC the servo is Oem to another make, just a lot smaller. So peeps have fitted small servos themselves rather than pay for the uber expensive red booster.

I tried a TD5 with a redbooster kit and the clutch was so light, unbelievably light.
It was certainly different to drive, no feel to the clutch at all, but OK when you got used to it. l fitted the clutch spring kit and that's fine for me. |

Yes I've also driven one with the redbooster kit fitted and I thought it made a big difference, didn't have to kick the pedal down

Got mine fitted just under a year ago and all fantastic. Yes, it takes a wee while to get used to it but it is worth it. I initially got it fitted so the wife could use the 90 (which she still doesnt) but its been great using it myself with the light clutch. I did a write up which is entitled New Redbooster and its wee story. I dont know how to add links so you can search for this if you so desire. I wouldnt be without it on my motor. Some might think it a bit girly and that real men have a heavy clutch pedal but honestly it makes the motor so much easier and nicer to drive.
