Met a 130 owned by one of our utility companies. The driver asked me if it was true that the 130 was front wheel drive and only 4 wheel drive when the diff lock light was on.. He was told this by the chief Land Rover mechanic of the main dealer who services them. I told him as far as I knew they were permanent 4 wheel drive. I presume I am correct in this assumption.
Puma 130 was cutting out when driven. The same chief mechanic uploaded some soft wear but same problem. They finally checked the diesel filter and it was full of crap. Told the driver he had bad diesel and to change suppliers. Driver said as all the fleet used the same source it could not be bad. I told him to get the breather on the fuel tank extended up to the bulkhead and that should cure the problem. Dealership was perplexed by leaking fuel tank when full. I explained that as the breather was below the filler cap neck it will spill diesel if the tank was filled right up. I explained that extending the breather on the tank to the bulkhead would also cure this. I do not use this maindealer 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

You should send your utility Co. a bill for having given your advice.
