defender issues
hi guys need some help
i have a v reg defender 2.5
issue one drivers door when you put key in the lock and pull key out it takes the barrel with it every time how do you fix this please.
issue 2 rear door has no barrel in it at all how is that fixed new lock and barrel or just a barrel.
issue 3 wheel on back door on the swing arm does not want to open/ pull away from rear door it wants to bend the plate thats on the back pannel rather than just glide over to the right to open the rear door i have noticed grease nipples on it help please.

I had a loose barrel on my rear door, in my case it was just a case of rotating the barrel in the handle and it "clicked" into place, I think it had been located the wrong way round when made.

With regards to your missing one, have a good look in the barrel hole to see if any things missing or broken, if not a new barrel should do the job, it may be worth replacing all locks so you have a matching key for all locks.

What year is the car ? has it the small lock barrels ? I might have some new ones with keys will look

Hi
from memory there is a small spring loaded pin which locates in the body of the handle. To remove you put a small screwdriver in which releases the key barrel. In practice they seize up which causes all sorts of fun to remove. All that happens from inside the door (meaning you need to remove the trim). Yours sounds like the reverse. pin not extending and locking into place.
