Hi Greyman and welcome
I'm the sort of person that likes the defender in good road condition first before any mod ie, serviced using genuine filters and quality oil, brakes good and tyres good. Then the worlds your oyster as far as mods concerned. Don't forget that if you sell it the cost of the mods you have added you may not get back as most people prefer a blank canvas when buying. Anyway be interesting to see how the defender develops with list you have. Good luck, Tommo. |

Cheers Tommo...completely agree with you!
I've only every driven a few defenders but I have to say this one is the tightest one I've ever driven! I was specifically looking for something good as a base vehicle and this was the best one i could find that suited my requirements. Planning on doing a few trips away which is why I want a 'mission ready' spec'd vehicle. ![]() |

Sounds good...the 110 is a spot on vehicle for what your suggesting. I often have considered a change to a 110 but have resisted the temptation so far.
You really can make it how you want it, on u-tube there's an Australian bloke who has converted his 110 to travel round Oz using what looks like a 300tdi. Pictures always welcome ![]() |

Welcome to Def2
![]() First of all, ensure you have some security, then add a little more! Plenty advice on here if you use the search facility. Have a look at Site sponsors first, then plenty of others depending on taste and budget. Looks great! Rather envious on some of the equipment already on it!

Thanks
![]() I thought yesterday that I would try and fit a CB...after doing what most people do and turning to youtube, I've now decided that I probably wont try that myself ![]() I have to say there were a few nice touches I didn't take much notice of when I looked at it, but now I've had it for a few days I've seen the previous owner did some shopping at Mud Stuff and picked up a few handy bits for the interior! In between driving it I've been looking at things I want to do. New rubber is slowly climbing the list so might look at some 265/75/16s along with some spacers. Since Saturday I've pretty much devoted my life to land rover ![]() |

Very nice. Will look great with the mods you've listed
![]() "As per Elessar: I can highly, highly recommend Pentagon London for window tinting. They used to be the registered tinter for LR Stratsone before tinted windows became a factory option. By their reckoning they have done a few hundred Defenders over the years. Excellent service, in and out in a day, look great and the guy knew his mustard (re all the niggles associated with Defender window extraction/replacement). Good price too, at just over £300 (cash) for a full SW windows. Yes, £300 for 14 individual windows with a limousine (5%) tint. Lifetime warranty to boot. For that money I wouldn't dream of DIY, barely covers the kit and materials and I am far too precious to believe I am that cheap (my time that is... Rolling with laughter ). I dealt with Martin, email sales@pentagonlondon.co.uk " Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |
