Probably on the roof Mike, but will need to look at the swr for the earth ground plane.

If it's just for green laning then I wouldnt bother with an external aerial at all, you wont need one. my mount is the one post earlier but you have to drill to fit it. it's not as much of an a******* clencher as you might think

no really as long as you put masking tape over the area, measure it etc, then i just used a sharp punch to create a small depression to stop the drill slipping

I'm about to get one of those giant orbitors for our forthcoming trip. I usually use the short one which is fine for greenlanes and better for tree branches etc but for long distance the big one is the way to go

Brian...i like mine, im sure it will work for you... as i mentioned i have a special clamp, you put it on the glass shut the window and on the outside it gives you a BNC and the inside you get whatever connection you need on the end of a cable.
You then plug in to the unit (i also use my airband transceiver if im on an airfield) and away you go! Mike |
