Fekete, I have a sirion ariel and gutter mount you can have, needs a new cable attaching, only thing I would say is the wire through the back door is a pain and eventually ends up damaged. But the ariel is good and top of the range. I have a roof mount on the 110 and needed a different ariel other wise I would have kept it. I mounted my CB on the back of the cubby box just used wood screws into the cubby.
Unfortunately I'm away so couldn't post it until 7/8th apr. Original Member Pie n Pea Club. 110 HCPU Tipper |

Ken you have a PM...
Handhelds are not the best to be honest...you have to keep putting them down, they're more bulky than just putting a mic. down, range is pretty limited....I'd say not to! Here's my HF set in my other 90.. ![]() |

I have a handheld - older version of the current Midland and its great.
Has a few advantages over a fixed unit - especially when spotting for others, as you can take it with you - its also not car limited or in need of SWR'ing. The range can be less - but i fitted a window clamp mount for an external aerial - which improves it...but for convoys and most the the P&P sites i have noticed any problems. Ive got the cheap earpiece stuff to make it hands free if required (which is good) and you can strap it to anything or anywhere. Overall - i dont think they are good...but different to a fixed unit Mike |

Handhelds are fine but rattle about and can be a hazard in the vehicle. if its for greenlaning the short range isnt an issue.

Must admit that mounting a CB in a suitable place in a puma isnt that easy (I've found anyway). Mind is wedged between the drivers seat and the cubby box with a piece of closed cell foam. It holds it pretty tightly and it doesn't ever move.

That's the one I'll be ordering Mike http://www.4x4cb.com/public/item.cfm?itemID=631 along with this http://www.4x4cb.com/public/item.cfm?itemID=1133 Looked at getting the roof console to mount a vehicle cb in, just can't justify the cost or use as it would only really get used when green laning with others. The good thing about the midland handheld is that you get a lot of options with it as standard including the option of mounting an external Ae. Plus it's 4w output, so with an external Ae it will be good enough for what I need it for, my set-up will be a Midland 42, mag mount and a Thunderpole SS Orbitor Ae or a Sirio Hi-Power 3000PL with the MAG145PL magnetic mount. |
