I'm getting annoyed with getting dust in the cab when driving in dusty conditions.
I know that D44 sell a filter for the fan intake, but that looks like it won't cope well with rain. Talking to someone recently they suggested that a snow cowl would reduce the dust intake, and I guess I could always fit some filter material underneath it too. Does this logic work or do I just need to fit a snorkel on both sides of the Defender?  |

I can't see that a snow cowl alone would reduce dust significantly. A filter of some sort would be required for that.

Ah, interesting. It looks like it just sits in place of the plastic mesh on the wing, what stops it getting soggy? |

I would imagine you could use something like aquarium filter foam, cut to fit under/around the intake grill to act as a sort of rudimentary filter, combined with a snow cowl to hide it and kept wet and leaves out, be interesting to see if it made much difference. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Judging by the cloud of dust that happens if I adjust the fan speed or direction, I think a fair amount comes in through the ventilation system  I also get little sand dunes on the dash under the vents.
However, I also get a load on top of the sun visors so I don't think it *all* comes in through the vents

I'm not really an expert, but whatever filter material needs to be something that won't hold too much water. It's going to get pretty wet on the wing top and will probably stink if can't dry. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
