I just found these,a good mate of mine John started to make a bed in his 90 it became a sort of competition between the two of us ,the only rule it had to be home made ,he came up with hammock which he used many times and this was my effort
I used this all over the place with a foam mattress and army sleeping bag very warm . |

This picture is from 2008 and the last French raid I did ,by this time my son had started to play rugby and most weekends where given up to watching rugby and it became my new hobby. The business had also move on to transporting classic cars so the 90 went and a 110 hi cap TD5 replaced it .

Looking back now at the hi cap thinking that's very nice ,but I remember it being very short of space because of the rear of the cab ,the seat even lifted would not go back far enough ,loved the TD5 engine this was at the same time I had the discovery TD5 auto which was the main vehicle to tow the tilt bed Ifor Williams trailer in the picture and one of the best all round 4x4's I have ever owned sorry all you defender lover's .I also had a V8 discovery on LPG before the TD5 the head gasket went but found I liked towing with a auto box so have always had auto's from that day onwards ,no more V8's.

I know what you mean by space, but i have made mine the way i want and being not to tall helps me allot you could of made a " king cab " for that extra bit of space 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

The defender 110 in this picture came from a firm that painted the electricity pylons and was fitted with a PTO capstan winch ,I found the 110 when I recovered their petrol driven winch mounted on what looked like a Sankey trailer from devon ,I had completely forgotten I bought this 110 looking back I think it was very high miles and on a E reg so a 1987.These pictures where taken about 25 years ago on a Essex green lane .
