Sorry, no, apart from rumors, and hear say, but what I do know is that Land Rover is deserting what Land Rover was all about.

The lands scape gardener in Town with his nice and friendly looking 110HCPU, loved by everyone, what is he going to buy for his new employer.
Farmer John up the road, his 90 TD5 has just about had it, what is on the market for him, secondhand Defenders suitable for farm use are just not available at a sensible price

Council, water and electricity board, the army, fire services the quarry in our valley, all used to have a Land Rover Products at some stage.

Disco II, was ok to push a snow plow, but now the land cruisers are doing it with ease, new Discovery is no real option

Carpenter in town is expanding his business, locked at secondhand Defenders or DiscoII, he went for two brand new Navaras, he is more than happy.

The vehicle of choice at the moment for all of the above are Hiluxes Amoroks G-Wagens, Prados, all quite happy with them, even if there is going to be a new Defender, Land Rover is going to have a real hard time to win any commercial customers back again

wish you all a nice day

Richard

Although owning a Defender, I wouldn't mind having a Hilux, if it wasn't for the fact it's simply unaffordable over here if I want to keep the back seat. 🤒

If the leaked images of the Jimny replacement are to be believed then I'll be going back to Suzuki for the next motor. I was expecting it to be more of a jelly mould but Suzuki seem to be going back to their roots and the square profile of the SJ series, it also looks like a mini G-Wagen from certain angles.

Rumours that Toyota are going back to their roots too. Whistle

If confirmed, I'll be at the dealer in a second. Thumbs Up

Little chance I'll ever rush to our JLR dealer again for something of interest there. Not as long as the governor is playing with paper and pencils there anyway. Rolling Eyes
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

That's alright....... 90% of Defender owners are deserting what Land Rover was all about. Quilted leather/clay bars/drl's/oversized alloys/detailing/KBX grilles etc etc.

They have their market 'bang on' Laughing

This is what replaced the Defender for the armed forces in Israel.
A HD version of the Wrangler, leaf springs on rear axle, solid looking chassis

according to the soldiers driving it, by far a better machine then the The Puma it replaces, they had kind words for the TD5 and the TDIs

the chips bag (sorry Velaaar) desingers at solihull might not be intersted anymore, Jeep certainly is, the upcomoing JL is even going to have Defender look alike side panels.

Have a rustless evening

I'm sure he isn't, but he surely is a smart entrepreneur, catering to the more average taste.... Rolling with laughter You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
