Immobiliser red light dead?
2008 Defender 110 Tdci

Immobiliser not working?

When I lock the doors with my keyfoob, the central locking engages, and indicators flash as should.
However, the red immobiliser light does not activate. (I've not seen it for a while!)
I've checked fuses and all good.

Interior lights and clock also not working (their fuse also okay).

And, after driving vehicle the rev counter (tacho) freezes at tick over rpm, when I turn off engine. If I turn ignition on and off, it resets to zero.

I'm guessing electrics - as had fault with a worn wire between door frames a couple of years back which stopped immobiliser activating.

It still drives, starts stops etc - so not all bad news!

Any suggestions!... 2.4 110 XS

Do the interior lights work if you turn them on manually or not at all?

Interior lights don't work at all. I'm thinking faulty earth.
Immobiliser light does not come on at all. Also suggestive of electric fault.
Rev counter. I've no idea what problem is here!

I suppose the worst you can do is add a temp earth to the interior lights (assume checked bulbs).

The LED on the dask I'd think would be AS10 fault as it's an LED so unlikley an earth fault as probably earthed via the AS10 or via the same earth as the dashboard in which was I'd expect nothing to work.

IIRC the AS10 unit actually controls the interior lights so a temporary earth to the former may be a good test. Darren
