I meant only for the PCV learning process. Pilot learning MUST be done with the remap loaded

I did Pilot learning with the BAS remap installed. After around 10.000 miles I got 4 fault codes saying that injector learning on each injector had not been completed. Tick over was lumpy and rough. Checked the FAQ part of BAS website and found that Pilot learning should only be done on the standard map. Reinstalled standard map, did procedure, reinstalled BAS remap.
Engine sweet at tickover and no fault codes.

thanks mate, but I'm confused now: two people telling me to do the exact opposite Rolling with laughter

but it's worth a try, will do this after work when then engine has been warmed up on my drive home.

It's just a PITA, since my remap is still on the old BAS interface and not the IID, hard to justify the new expense of getting the remap again... --

Understand your confusion - why not contact Pete Bell (BAS) for the definitive answer? I've found his response time to be almost instant if you use the BAS website Thumbs Up Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right.

Try a different fuel station for a few tanks, I had a rough idle after I bought fuel from a different garage, didn't go back there again. No jumping needle since.

Thanks Jonny, I have put in 3 tanks from different stations since this started, no change.

I have also reverted back to the factory map, and re-did the pump & pilot re-learn, and it was actually worse this morning! Shocked

let's assume it's one or more injectors - what readings can I take with my IID tool to confirm/deny this?

Thanks! --

Sorry to hear that.
Just a thought, I've swapped maps several times and each time it seems to take a few trips before everything settles down. The map seems to need a few "driving cycles" to get everything working properly. Bit of a long shot but may be worth a try.

thanks, will leave it on the factory map for a few days and see.

Funnily, I swear I couldn't tell the difference between the two maps when I drove this morning.

And yet, I do recall how different the truck felt when I had to swap the maps for the services at the dealership. --

I have contacted BAS, who kindly offered to send me LR software updates prior to switching my remap from the old interface to the IID tool.

top service Thumbs Up --

Went to my mechanic yesterday, we checked over a few things.

The diagnosis is injectors are on their way out... but I'm running a tank on Wurth Diesel Cleaner first in case it was just bad diesel clogging the injector tips.

If not, R22k bill for 4 injectors. So much for buying the new Oppo 205 Big Cry --

Can anyone tell me whether a fuel rail temperature of 26C is normal at cold startsup when the ambient temperature is around 10C?
