South Africa 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Keswick Green
Dual battery setup
I'm installing a dual battery in my Puma. The space is not really large enough to add an extra batery next to the current one, so I'm opting for a battery bax in the rear. I have some questions though. I'm gonna run spotlights and VHF radio from the second battery.

So live goes to solenoid from existing battery and from there it goes to the rear bat box. Earth is connected straight to the back. If I "tap" live from just after the solenoid (to be installed in the front under seat) will it still run if the rear battery is removed. Off course the solenoid is only open if the alternator is runnning, so my quetion is will I be able to use my spotlights even though the rear battery is removed (granted that the alternator is running?

Second reason for this setup is I want to be able to remove the battery easilly.
