The panhard rod changed around 2007.
The earlier one has a kink around the diff pan, the later is straight. The bushes and bolts are smaller on the later one. (i think) http://new.lrcat.com/#!/1228/7048/7288/651/7311 earlier and late ones http://new.lrcat.com/#!/1235/266/403/66/426 late ones |

The change was in 2002, and the bolts got bigger not smaller.
Earlier vehicles had a solid steel rod with a kink in it at the RH end, with bushes to fit 14mm bolts. Later vehicles used a hollow steel tube rod that is straight and has bushes to fit 16mm bolts. The corresponding holes in the brackets on the axle casing and the chassis drop arm are sized to suit, as are the nuts/bolts of course. If they're cheap aftermarket ones, then it wouldn't surprise me if the bushes were just a poor fit. However see what setup you have and check the part numbers are correct. The part number you have stated is for the early type, the later bush is RBX101340. |

Cheers guys
![]() I have ordered RBX101340 from my local parts supplier and as you say 2002> was the change! I was not sure what mine was as it has been substantially modified over the years. So he is getting me some more bushes and hopefully they will get it sorted. You are quite correct it has a straight bar no kink and I would say hollow as it is surprisingly light.....I was nearly tempted to get a heavy duty one. I have already changed the steering bar and drag bar to heavy duty ones. Hopefully I won't bend it but if I do I will treat it to a more substantial item. Thanks again ![]() |
