I'm not sure if (all) Defenders have volumetric alarms but a partially open window can trigger the alarm so maybe as simple as that.

You are correct Daz. The whole windscreen was a web. Last used the Defender a week ago. Intruder found!

The wife's alarm went off at about 3 in the morning a couple of months after she got it for no reason what so ever, I ran outside half dressed and shouting, thinking someone was breaking in, but there was no one around or climbing over the seven foot gates, it wasn't wet or raining and there were no bugs or webs that I could find the next day. It's never happened since so I've no idea. Ray

I had this happen last summer on two consecutive nights, one at 01.30 and one at 03.00. Checked the obvious but found nothing and the alarm has been perfect ever since. Defender 90XS SW
