Thanks for the welcome.
It is a great looking truck and is a joy to just look at! We're in the process of 'de-chaving' it and making it a bit more rural friendly after its previous life as a Chelsea tractor so the ridiculous sound system has gone and the wheels are back to a set of genuine LR sawtooths. Spec fitted by the previous owner was extensive: remap, larger intercooler, OME shocks, LED lights, sound proofing throughout, Momo wheel, etc etc |

Thanks all.
Kruger in the 110 is a long way off still although we're looking forward to going back after doing a guided tour last summer. Some of the expedition rigs we saw out there were phenomenal and something to aim for. It was the opportunity to wild camp in Kruger that makes us want to go back, recce'd some great places well away from the beaten track to explore. Back to now, I've put in a couple of trackers, smartwatered it, plus the usual clutch claw, steering lock etc. I used to work in physical security / penetration testing so have been thinking up ways to protect it more, like using some left over ground pressure sensors around its parking space. Not sure how much I'll be allowed to get away with however More practically, looking to put on diff guard(s?) to complement the steering guard it came with as when it floods around here it's easy to stray off into the ditches and streams. Would be interested to know of any recommendations. |
