Which ones are that ericvv? I like the way theyre designed fit with the wheel arch spats. Most just come to an abrubt finish. |

These here are from Entreq Germany. I'm not going to comment further about that, touchy subject on this forum.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

They are from Terrafirma. I am verry happy with them - at last, now that I had them sandblasted, galvanised (electroplated) and powder coated. The origininal finish lasted just one salty winter before rust appeared. Took them off and gave them the treatment they should have had from the manufacturer. Otherwise can't fault them, very sturdy and handy to step on to load the roofrack. I think these are just the same as everyone elses. The chequer plate on the bottom edge of the door makes them look lower than normal. If someone made them with the tree slider welded to the underside of the rockslider instead of agaisnt the side i'd buy them. I think i'll just go for Mantec rock sliders with the factory side steps.
Well i like them, but having seen the price i don't like them enough to buy them. I do like the way they've made an effort to make the ends fit mind you. |

Definitely not pretty but they do their job!
Click image to enlarge Hot dipped galvanised prior to powder coating. Click image to enlarge Not rust marks there but tree bark. Some say we use our vehicles others say that we abuse our vehicles. I could say we actually use the items we sell so we know their advantages and disadvantages. What surprised me was the lack of R + T sliders at the Swedish Offroad Tour. What did not surprise me was the number of vehicles coming back with damaged sills and doors due to lack of R + T sliders. Brendan |

I like VeeTee and Eric's, but prefer my Bowler sills!! But if you go for the slider, think it'll look great. Monsieur Le Grenadier

@Veetee, I think those are good and sturdy side steps or very bad designed tree sliders. 😄

I want some sliders, but preferably want the tube to be chunkier than the ones Brendan sells if possible? Any clues where I might find some? V8 90...WIP

I was thinking more welded to the bottom of the risk slider but still at a right angle to the body. So it gave decent side protection while at the same time offering a side step at a sensible height. |

I'm with you on that. When I go off-road it is generally agricultural land, so I'm not bothered about off-road protection (as there aren't really any large boulders/trees around). What I would like is better on-road protection for the driver and passenger without losing the convenience of the existing side steps. There is definitely a gap in the current offerings (at least that I am aware of). |
