It will have or had a CAT on, its on the same plate as mine. EGR unit is a little tricky to get at off, due to the access, but as soon as apply some heat and take your time, you will get that off. Also under the middle seat, ( was on mine) is the ECU for the EGR too, get that disconnected and binned too. No point in having it in there taking up power when you can use that for something else. The other day I had some time off and the weather wasn't unbearably bad so I got to work replacing the radio with another which had a aux input. Got this nice looking Kenwood radio which done the job.
Click image to enlarge The next job was to replace the 90 roof rack that came with the Land Rover with my custom Brownchurch roof rack. Well it's been way too long since an update and it's been way too long since I done any new mods.
So the lack of performance was really starting to get to me, especially after owning a v8 so I finally went ahead and bought a full size intercooler from Alisport. After a good couple of hours and a few unforeseen altercations the beauty was finally fitted Click image to enlarge After a couple more hours and a few more unforeseen altercations it was complete Click image to enlarge Performance feels minimal but there is a noticeable increase, I think I will need to get the pump tweaked professionally to take full advantage of the intercooler. Also have this little feller I decided to get after a puncture the other week so anyone want to guess where it's going? A Hi-Lift is not much use for wheel changing in my experience, far better off with the bottle jack.

I don't like hi-lifts at all, They seem to dangerous to me. My dad kept bleating about me getting one for mine, He has had up with his, and nearly had a up with mine. So this time I bought a proper jack and I am on the look out for a proper land rover bottle jack kit for mine, So that I can get shot of the hi-lift thing, ( it was a cheap job bought to shut my dad up) Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

This is one of those debates that goes round and round. Hi-lifts can be dangerous if not used with care but are a very versatile tool if used sensibly. They're probably not the ideal jack if changing a wheel on a nice flat drive but in other circumstances may be the only jack that will work. Horses for courses and like anything involving moving big heavy things, care and common sense is required. Darren

Scenes as I couldnt fix the bonnet release with the new intercooler I got round to fitting these military style bonnet catches to hold it down, until I have a bonnet mounted spare anyway
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Still haven't got round to mounting the hi lift on the crossmember. Next weekend I will hopefully have something new and interesting for you all 1999 Land Rover Defender 110 td5 station wagon 1998 Land Rover Defender 110 County Station Wagon ~ Sold 1995 Land Rover Defender 110 V8 Station Wagon ~ Sold 1985 Land Rover 110 ex mod project Tithonus ~ Sold |

Not really the update I was hoping for due to the seller backing out (clearly didnțt want to sell his winch and bumper that badly). But I managed to finally after three months get my hands on a decent condition camel trophy style superwinch husky bumper. So if anyone has a husky lying around hit me up
