Thanks Clayton Taunton, that's not that far from me, at least not in the grand scheme. The previous owner was only in Chichester I think 1999 Land Rover Defender 110 td5 station wagon

Don't know at the moment. Job hunting is tiring and I've finally got the hours I want at my current job so I'm not in a rush to leave now. I doubt I'll be gone any time soon as I want to build this Defender into a baller overland rig first 1999 Land Rover Defender 110 td5 station wagon

Sorry to hear about your job but that Land Rover looks great. Does it need much in the way of maintenance or is it good to go with the bolt on fun stuff? Darren

Cracking looking 110
Please don't cover it in 'bolt on stuff' - there's nothing you need to make it an overland vehicle other than somewhere to sleep and some storage in the back. |

Thankyou all Don't worry I wont cover it in tacky accessories. Just thinking my custom roof rack and some boxes on it, a bullbar, the mandatory (for me) bonnet spare and a bed in the back
Got a few maintenance things line up, rear doors rotten, expansion tank was hanging off so bolted that on this afternoon. Mudflaps on one side are missing, a bunch of dash lights don't work and the indicator doesn't self cancel. Wouldn't mind a bit more poke so will look into a boost pin and possibly a larger intercooler 1999 Land Rover Defender 110 td5 station wagon 1998 Land Rover Defender 110 County Station Wagon ~ Sold 1995 Land Rover Defender 110 V8 Station Wagon ~ Sold 1985 Land Rover 110 ex mod project Tithonus ~ Sold |

I'm not one to advocate tat, but even useful mods can be fun to do Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

Yeah, Not gonna lie I will be very tempted to mount a high lift and a shovel and sand ladders on the vehicle to look cool and maybe once in their lifetime be practical 1999 Land Rover Defender 110 td5 station wagon

for a bit of poke, see if its got the EGR system still on, if it has, buy the blanking kit and bin that off straight away, I found that made a massive difference in first and second gear there and then. Then push onto doing away with the CAT and fit a good Air filter, I have a ITG in mine. Since i done all 3 i have noticed she is a lot more responsive, looking at 10 to 15% quicker than she was, so i may have had a few problems which have been corrected. I cannot stress enough about binning that EGR, that thing really does kill the power on 300, well it did on mine.
Do those 3 before you decide to go anywhere near any pump and intercooler stuff. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |
