Don't know if anyone else has seen but Haynes are finally putting a manual together for the Puma defenders. Looks like it's going to be released later this year:

pre ordered. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

Haynes books aren't what they used to be. I rarely bother with them any more.
I think Land Rover are missing a trick by not selling printed Defender manuals any more. They were well worth £50 , I mean it's probably not worth their while selling printed workshop manuals for the Range Rover lets say, because few people will do home maintenance on the newer models, but most Defender owners do. |

Can't say I'll bother with it. Chances are, based on the others I have seen recently, it will be stuffed full of servicing level info, and the major jobs will be along the lines of "overhauling the xxx is a difficult job requiring special tools, and is best left to a Landrover dealer". It will also be printed on paper of the quality of recycled paper towels.
The LR manual is a much better option, even if the Puma manual is riddled with errors (the 2.4, at any rate). In the old days Brooklands Books held the rights to distribute printed copies (my Disco 2 WSM was produced by BB for LR) but I don't know what the situation is now. Over the years I have now printed most of the 2.4 manual and have it in a series of ring binders. |

I printed the full workshop manual and had it bound in four volumes. It's great for covering everything but it is a total ballache as there are no page numbers and most jobs require jumping back and forth between numerous tasks. I'll be getting a copy of this as it will probably be easier to use set for many jobs. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I think the Puma manual available online from various sources is either a very early one , or it's actually a Ford manual someone has cobbled together. The one on topix has completely different graphics to the ones i've seen for 'free download'. |

I have two Haynes Manuals (for a Series III and 300tdi)
The 'Guidance' advice given, is generally worth knowing, before you get your Toolbox out... so it will be interesting to see what sort of a job they make of the 'Puma' Manual Let's hope this tread doesn't drift into a 'corrections log' for their efforts... Described as... Defender 90, 110 & 130 models, including Chassis Cab, Pick-up, Double Cab, Station Wagon, Soft Top and Hard Top versions with 2.2 litre (2198cc) & 2.4 litre (2402cc) turbo-diesel engines Does NOT cover petrol models, or specialist options or conversions 352 pages Click image to enlarge SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |
