Wow that is poor! Even if spend all day flooring and ragging my 110 TD5 around its never dropped below ~22mpg.

Everything in your engine clean? Intercooler, inlet manifold etc..? Blocked EGR maybe? Damaged hose? My dads RR had a small split in one of the boost hoses, you didnt notice any difference unless you really put your foot down (black smoke) but the MPG had dropped from the usual 23 to 17. Changed the hose and its back up to ~23 now.

Ahhhh.....

Ok... Well I have found the problem.... I am reminded by the wife that I swapped the battery out for the caravan battery whilst on a rally a few weeks back..... When I add in the distance between the garage and the site, I have a much more palatable 24.5 mpg! Sorry for the scare everybody. I will watch the next fill with interest as towing the wobblebox to Welsh Wales... V8 90...WIP
