2010 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Keswick Green
correct wheels for a 1986 90 v8?
I think the answer is standard steel wheels and 205 tyres, painted white or limestone

but I've seen a few photos of 86/87 cars on painted Rostyles

also wondering if 110 steel wheels of same period are an inch wider ?

thx

so, those HD wheels, what width tyres do you run? 225's?

am thinking thats the correct option, Rostyles best left for the RRC

basically the car I have in mind would be exactly like this. with a 4 litre under the bonnet...

cheers

I run 235/85s on my HD wheels. My personal preference for a Landy of this era Thumbs Up

I think Rostyles were part of the County trim for 90's of that era, regardless of engine. They're not rated for the weight of a 110 though.

Standard steel wheels for Defenders are all the same size - 16 x 5.5 - regardless of them being on a 90 or 110. For wider steel wheels at 6.5 inch it's either the earlier forward control rims or the slightly later Wolf/HD rims as shown above. They've also always been painted white. Limestone went out with the Series III.

Standard tyres for that era would have been 205/16's for 90's and 7.50/16's for 110's, although there were a couple of options. 235/85 became what's now considered the 'standard' size for both wheelbases with the introduction of alloy wheels on the 300tdi in '94 but 7.50's were still an option. Darren

I think 7.50 x 16 remained the standard tyre size for basic spec 110's a lot later than the 90's era - my basic 2007 Puma came with 5.5 rims and 7.50 x 16 OEM Michelin tyres.

As Land Rover Anorack said above although the Rostyle (or in LR marketing speak) "Styled Steel Wheels" we're an option on all 90's according to brochures. I have Rostyles on my 85 V8 90 and I like them, a tad small looking with 205.16's but a nice period look to them.
