Yep. Shabs or Ashcroft buy a Disco box from them or buy a used box and have a garage fit it. Depends how much you want to spend really.

Or £75 for a used disco transfer box (they very rarely fail) and couple of hundred for fitting, or do it yourself with som help to lift into place.

As Lotus Esprit says, I'm on my 2nd Disco 1 transfer box in the last 10 years.
Bear in mind you'll need to change over the Diff Lock mechanism. Also the D2 transfer box is different as the D2 does not have the diff lock activation kit as standard although the early ones do have the external drive for the linkage which the facelift doesn't. The D2 diff ratio is fractionally higher geared and has 'Quiet Gears' fitted, as does the Tdci Defender transfer box! |
