Do you not use it much for long trips? 1,45hrs is nothing... |

I went today and thought it was great! Plenty of 2nd hand jumbles and other stalls. Didn't seem to be too much going on in the arena but maybe I was too distracted rifling through the boxes of 2nd hand parts
Overall I'd say worth the entry fee and 2h30m drive to get there Matt. '89 90 CSW with a 3.5 V8 conversion (WIP) - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic46809.html |

I went today too. I agree - the arena was very quiet - there was nothing of interest for me in the arena bar perhaps the Red Devils at midday.
There are a lot of stalls and a lot of second hand jumbles- I could not get through them all. There were a lot of food / drink vendors dotted around too providing plenty of variety. Just my opinion but I think Kelmarsh needs to invest in their facilities if they want to host large events like this. I went to a US car show a few weeks back which had also moved to Kelmarsh. Its basically just a set of very large fields. Plus side, Market Harborough is close by and it's a great market town. 2007 Defender 90 XS 2022 Defender D300 HSE X-Dynamic |

I agree there. Peterborough has a proper building for an entrance where they serve cups of tea etc but more importantly, it has a cash point - my mate was getting short of cash and we couldn't find anywhere on site to get some at Kelmarsh. Matt.

I made the almost 3 hour journey there for the day and was glad I did it was a nice show lots of stalls and a few regulars but it did seem to miss the Billing magic for me driving from there today i thought to myself i will miss the old billing show which i have been to for the last 20 years i will camp there next year if I can make it.
I think it will grow year on year to be a good show 2023 Defender L663 V8 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8 (gone) 2010 110 XS Utility 2.4TDCI 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 (gone) 2007 Discovery HSE TDV6 (gone) 1993 110 csw 200 tdi (gone) 1994 90 HT 300 tdi (gone) 1994 discovery 300tdi (gone) 90 hybrid 3.5 v8 (gone) Range rover bobtail 3.5 v8 (gone) |

Hi Tommo, it was good to meet you and your wife. We meet many people at shows and it is good to meet up with old friends and customers and meet new ones. Some of our visitors were disappointed that there were none of Barbara's cake with us. Some visitors just come for the cakes
A brief view of this first show at Kelmarsh. Yes there were the foreign visitoes, Kell and crew from Denmark, Belgium visitors, a German visitor who did not know about Nakatanenga, Austrians and am sure there were many others. Arena seemed to be much larger then at other shows. The Red Devils come in directly above our stand on Saturday and the noise and speed they come in at was impressive. OK I do not have much time to wander around the show myself so can not really comment about other stands and facilities. Now toilet facilities are always mentioned, now we had a bank of 9 toilets closed to us. These were cleaned on Saturday morning and 10 minutes later I went to one and the standard the previous users had left it in was not acceptable. Yes the weather was not the best with long periods of heavy rain which did not help the ground conditions however the ground stood up reasonably well. Not bad show for a first attempt at Kelmarsh so hopefully they can work and make it even better for next year. Brendan |
