Recon Gearbox - What gear?
Just recieved a recon LT77 gearbox from Ashcroft and fitted it. What i want to know is what gear is it in? Do they ship them in a certain gear or is there a way to tell? I purchased it without the top casing on which holds all the gear change mechs.

Any info is much appreciated

Thanks

I suspect it will be in neutral. If you can turn the input and output shafts independently of one another then it's not in a gear.

It doesn't really matter, when you put the shifter housing and turret etc. on it will line itself up. The important bit is the positioning and securing of the selector forks on the shaft itself, which they will have done as part of the rebuild.
