Hoping I haven't made an expensive mistake here......
OEM LR 110 Rack and Foxwing...... Foxing comes tomorrow (most likely) and have tubular rack mounts being delivered. just having a look at my rack now, which mounting points do they pick up on, presumably its the 1st transverse bar from the from the 2nd last transverse bar from the rear. Or do you need to mount it to the rear transverse bar (in which case I need to sell my ladder)...... Will post pics tonight, but I got a horrible feeling i need to change my ladder Cheers Andy |

So fitted the rack, pretty much only way i could.
Plan today is to modify the rack ladder and re-assemble. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Cheers Andy Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Thanks Andy looks brilliant, love the truck! So I have the same roof rack and I am told (by APB & Tuff trek amongst others) its difficult to fit an awning on it. Did you get special brackets made? 2015 110 XS CSW Montalcino Red with Black Pack

Hi,
Thanks, I love it as well, the colour has grown on me considerably. The awning makes it look more purposeful as well I have the LR rack, I looked long and hard at brackets for the foxwing. I spoke to 4x4 overlander and boab both said that there are kits available for tubular racks (but note that the LR rack isn't mentioned on the packaging on either site). Both stores advised the same product that they have sold to customers with foxwings and LR racks, Having fitted it, I would agree, my only point is to think carefully about your ladder option. Depending on the OEM ladder you have chosen it will try and use the same mounting point on the rack. Really for the foxwing, you don't have many options on where to mount the rear bracket. so you may have to modify your ladder a little. But that assumes your ladder is hooked onto the rack tubulars, if bolted to the gutter or bolted to the wall - then no drama. http://www.boab.biz/acatalog/FOXWING-Essentials.html I bought the tubular rack bracket kit - 4 down from top. Thanks for the heads up Andy - much appreciated. We have much in common including a red truck! Not sure I understood what you've done to modify the ladder - mine is a newer fit that hooks onto the rack. Thanks also for teaching me about UV resistance cable ties - learn something new...! Hi,
I took a slightly different approach when fitting mine. Click image to enlarge I modified the rear bracket so goes around the vertical piece. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Not sure if it's clear in the pics but basically cut the bracket in half and re-welded with an offset to go around the vertical tube and then just to be sure welded in some triangular pieces to strengthen it up. Went down this route as didn't want the rear bracket at the very end of the channel in the aluminium. Completely by accident it also gave me the ideal spot for the mag mount DAB aerial. and yes mine also needs a wash! Defender Puma 110XS SW Kawasaki ZX9R El Suzuki RGV250M Honda CB250N Super Dream |
