iPhone 7 Silent Switch
My wife and I both have iPhone 7's. Whilst we both like the phone, one thing is driving us mad and that is that the silent switch located on the side seems to have a mind of its own in so much as it switches to silent on its own, meaning that we are missing calls. As this is a mechanical switch I guess it is being turn off as it is being handled in our pocket.

Does anyone else have this problem and if so have you found a way to stop it switching to silent on its own.

I guess you keep it in your pocket without a sleeve or decent cover. Using a wallet cover I have never experienced this. Cheers, Vincent

I recently spent an hour on the phone to Vodaphone customer service because my daughters' 5S had stopped ringing, only to eventually discover that that switch had been flicked Embarassed Hers has a case on that means it's recessed but still managed to get switched accidentally. Stupid thing. Darren

There is an app called Silent Alert that may work, but its £4.99, I've not used it personally and check out the Review on the app store, you need to ensure other things are enabled as well

I spent ages searching Google for a solution. Never thought of searching on App Store. Thanks Buz, I've downloaded the App Silent Alert. Problem solved. Thanks again Buz. Thumbs Up

Riverboy - I can imagine the comments from my mates in the pub if I took up your suggestion . Laughing Defender 90XS SW

Not a lot of use, but in a previous iOS I believe you could make this switch lock the rotation of the phone or use as a mute switch. It mat still be available on the iPads, I haven't looked. This seems to have been removed from the phones on the latest iOS.

I've never had the problem with the switch, but then I have my phone in a bumper so is a bit protected.
