Like above try LV, I'd also try Heritage. The LRO magazine has a list of insurers to try if that helps. James

I'm with LV and chose them as they would insure with spacers / remap etc.
Try Admiral they used to be good when I had modified cars. |

Try Adrian Flux.
They came up with the best price for me after I told my previous insurers about my mods. Wheel spacers, different steering wheel and LED indicators/sidelights and they refused to quote!!! |

Adrian Flux just lost 3 of my policies. A-Plan picked 2 of them up.
If you like immediate attention and not waiting days for an email response, A-Plan for the win. |

A Plan's offer was not great for me,
Guess it does depend on many circumstance.... ![]() Shame as you only know how good the insurance company is when you need them. Google reviews though and look at customer service and support. |

I would assume that you have hit the perfect insurance storm. I don't suppose your employment and employment status has done you the world of good add to it a non-standard vehicle and they all go running for cover. That is a real pain in the ar$e.
I had to add business cover to my policy (I am employed rather than self employed), it didn't cost much more, but then I don't use my vehicle much for work and I have a standard un-modified wagon. As above, try Flux. They are good for modified vehicles, but whether they are as good for business policies, I can't say. Good luck. Someone will insure you, it's just the case of how much, I'm afraid. If it is any consolation, I have never managed to get a cheap policy. |

Anybody out there with a 9 plus seat 110 station wagon. Possibly with an auto conversion that has it insured for more than 7000 miles a year.
I am hitting a problem for a reasonable quote from the usual suspects. So I'm interested in examples where this combination has been insured. 1995 Defender 110 CSW 1971 SIIA Lightweight |

My Business use will be very little, i'm only doing 1 or 2 days a week and my brothers transit (not white) will be used mainly, mine is just to get me to the location and home. I'm with you re the amount paid, i always seem to be 250-300 no matter what i drive be it a bog standard car or this Defender, mates always seem to get their insurances cheaper....oh well, as long as i get the cover needed rather than lie and pay the price when making a claim |

I have a 9 seat 110 station wagon. My local NFU insured it for less than £300. The main NFU call centre couldn't insure me and the other quotes I got where for about £600.

Hi Paddle42
Thanks for that. I have an Enquiry with my local NFU office. It is taking a while but nice to know it can be worth preserving with them. 1995 Defender 110 CSW 1971 SIIA Lightweight |
